Executive Producer and Partner, Arcade Edit
Head Judge – Editing
Sila hates bios… but if you must know, she was born and raised in Alabama by Turkish doctors—go figure. She managed to complete college in four years (with a gap year in the middle) by ensuring all her credits transferred as she bounced between five different schools, including The New School, University of Toronto, Emerson, Trinity College Dublin, and finally earning her degree from NYU Tisch.
After working on sound design and Foley for “deferred payment” and credit on indie features (Sling Blade, Niagara Niagara, Tromeo & Juliet—yes, a Troma film), she needed to pay rent and took a job as an assistant editor at a commercial edit house. From there, she continued her tradition of bouncing around, working as a freelance editor, production coordinator, agency producer, and finally landing back in post-production as a producer. Today, she is Executive Producer and Partner of Arcade Edit, an award-winning, bicoastal editorial collective and trusted collaborator, providing high-level talent and processes to agencies such as Wieden & Kennedy, Arts & Letters, Anomaly, BBDO, Saatchi & Saatchi, Goodby, Droga, and 72 & Sunny.
In January 2023, she had what some might call a "midlife crisis" and began training in floor karate (known in some circles as Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu). By October of the same year, she was promoted to blue belt, and in September 2024, she won her first World Championship (IBJJF)—a feat she is still baffled by.
