Kieran Fowler is a New Zealand-born cinematographer based in Australia. Growing up on the South Island, he got into photography and filmmaking from a young age and has since gone on to work internationally across film, television, commercials and music videos.
His latest TV series, My Brilliant Career, directed by Alyssa McClelland for Netflix, is set for release this year, with other TV and film credits including StudioCanal’s film Kangaroo (2025), the Lionsgate mystery-comedy series Population: 11 (2024), and the acclaimed Hulu crime thriller Safe Home (2023).
In the commercial world, Fowler has shot campaigns for major brands including Peloton, Uniqlo, Land Rover and Apple.
His music video work includes 5 Seconds of Summer’s “Old Me”, which received an MTV VMA nomination for Best Cinematography in 2020, and Guy Sebastian’s “Choir”, which won both the 2020 ACS Golden Tripod Award and the 2019 ARIA Award for Best Video. “Standing With You” also took home the ARIA Award for Best Video in 2020. Other collaborations include Amy Shark, Keith Urban, Flume and AC/DC.
