Louise, or "Lou," has been a casting director at the renowned Mark Summers Casting for over 20 years. Her journey began in front of the camera as a child performer, eventually transitioning to artist management before finding her true passion in casting.
Lou has had the privilege of working on global projects with some of the most visionary producers and directors in the industry, from high-profile commercials to feature films. Recently, she contributed her expertise to the casting of dancers for Guillermo del Toro's highly anticipated Frankenstein.
One of her most rewarding projects in 2021 was casting the UK and European segments of The Climate Pledge campaign, directed by Melina Matsoukas, which focused on sustainable and decarbonizing technologies.
More recently, Lou embraced the challenge of casting for Meningitis and Shingles—deeply emotional projects that involved real stories and personal experiences. These castings were powerful, reminding her of the strength and vulnerability required to step into the casting room.
Direct and compassionate, Lou holds nothing but admiration for the people she works with. "It takes real courage to walk into a casting—seasoned professionals still find it daunting."
Originally from Essex, with Texas as her second home, Lou has a passion for country music and is a proud dog-mum to Lottie and Lola.
