Creative Director/Art Director & Head of Art, Publicis Groupe Belgium
I’m Gui, an art-based Creative Director from Brazil, based in Brussels.
I am currently Head of Art at Publicis Groupe Belgium (Duval Guillaume/Leo Burnett/Publicis/Prodigious), managing [and leading] the design department. In this role, my main objective is to bridge the gap between content and design, crafting the day-to-day work and award-winning case studies and projects for local, regional, and global awards.
Before moving to Brussels, I held a different role within the Groupe, as Creative Director of the Lisbon Office for two years. Two years that brought massive amounts of personal and professional satisfaction.
During that period, I became a father, and the agency was named the Best Integrated and Innovative Agency in Portugal.
And in the five years prior to these life and career defining moments-- I was Senior Art Director at the Leo Burnett Lisboa office. Among the recognitions during that period: Agency of the Year several times over, Best Art Director in 2015 and wins in important new business pitches such as Heineken and Holmes place—to name a few.
Flashback to a career before Portugal in my native Brazil.
Where I was the Digital Creative Coordinator at Fullpack, an agency where I not only learned how to lead the digital side of an agency—but much more important—it was there that I met my lovely wife.
In 2012, I had a short yet incredible journey —a sabbatical. During this time, I embarked on a Eurotrip from Dublin, using the chance to study and explore Europe until my funds ran out.
Before that, I had a stint at AlmapBBDO in São Paulo, after working in small boutique studios and local agencies in Rio de Janeiro. Which leads us to the neighborhood of Méier, where I was born in Rio.
