Stop Motion Director & Visual Artist, Scale Model Studios & Eddy Animation
Lou Beauchard is a director and visual artist whose distinctive approach is rooted in visual arts and stop motion. Represented in the UK by Scale Model Studios and currently developing her directing work with Eddy Animation, she works across film, animation and crafted image-making.
Through collaborations with artists including Okay Kaya, Saya Gray, Yullola and Coldplay, she has developed a cinematic language that blurs the boundaries between the fantastical, the everyday and the poetry of spaces.
Beyond directing, Beauchard’s practice as a stop-motion animator, puppet maker and set designer has led her to work across a wide range of formats, from music videos and commercials to short and feature films. She has also created characters and handcrafted pieces for houses including Louis Vuitton, Hermès and Gucci.
Working with materials such as silicone, clay, paper … Beauchard combines technical precision with a tactile, highly detailed approach. Her films often explore memory, the unconscious and the space between reality and dreams, transforming intimate, suspended moments into evocative cinematic worlds.
In 2026, she presented a short film inspired by a recurring dream as part of New York Design Week.
