Rita Leon Bernardo has a degree in communication studies from the NOVA University of Lisbon. She specialised in scriptwriting in Carlos III University in Madrid and later in Copywriting from Lisbon Ad School.

Senior Copywriter with 10+ years of experience in traditional advertising, digital and branding in the Portuguese market. She won several Young Creative prizes in Portugal and a Bronze award in the Cannes Young Lions Competition. Has worked in internacional campaigns and many national projects within advertising and design.

CV:
Started her career in 2008 has a trainee in Young and Rubicam (now VML). On that same year she won the student creative competition in Portugal and went to Cannes to the Roger Hatchuel Academy.

In 2010 she was invited to join J. Walter Thompson (now VML) as a junior copywriter to work the Nokia, Vodafone and Kit Kat accounts.

By 2011 she moved on to FullSix (now Havas) as a junior copywriter to work the digital accounts of Super Bock, Carlsberg Água das Pedras and Compal (UNICER group). Still on that year she went to Cannes and won a Bronze Award in the Young Lion competition. 

Thanks to the prize in 2012, BAR (now Ogilvy) invited her to join the creative team. She worked on the Sagres, EDP and Lusiteca accounts.

In 2014 she joined the local agency The Hotel to work on the IKEA team now as a senior copywriter. She then worked Jameson, Absolut and El Corte Inglés. 

In 2019 the design agency IVITY invited her to join them and work on branding and strategy for brands. Since then, she now works part-time with IVITY as senior Concept/Copywriter and part-time on freelance projects.
