Valia’s career has unfolded in two distinct and dynamic chapters.
The first — as an advertising executive — spanned nearly two decades across India’s top-tier agencies such as SSC&B Lintas (Lowe), McCann, and Ogilvy.
The second saw him turn producer and entrepreneur, founding Hungry Films with his partner Vijay Sawant, which quickly became one of the country’s most admired and awarded advertising production houses.
Work created by Hungry has won top honours at Cannes Lions, D&AD, One Show, Clios, London International Awards, Shots APAC, Kyoorius Creative Awards, Good Ads Matter Awards, and the Campaign India Film Crest Awards.
A respected voice in advertising, he has been a part of India’s first-ever advertising round table and has served on prestigious juries — including the Clio Awards (the only Indian in his category) and the Good Ads Matter Awards.
His stories may change genres, but they all share one thing in common: they come from a place of heart, honesty, and a relentless love for the craft.
Valia is also bringing that same love for craft and culture to long-format storytelling. His debut theatrical feature was released on 1 May 2025, and has gone on to become the biggest regional film of the year — widely applauded by viewers and critics alike. This marks an exciting new milestone in a journey that blends intuition, insight, and imagination.
