Leilani grew up in a tiny mountain town in Nowheresville, Australia – dreaming of big city lights and a career in front of the camera… not behind it. She taught English to kawaii children in Tokyo, lost a toe in Brisbane (don’t ask), and forged her path from the front desk at Revolver in Sydney (sponging off some of the best along the way).
Her career launched with a cavalcade of flying boobs (?!?) in Berlei’s Boob Balls – work that earned her a coveted Cannes Lion. She’s won more shiny things on the journey, and in 2024 added a Silver Lion to the cabinet for McDonald’s The Original Mouthful.
She has directed acclaimed work across music videos (Jack Ladder, Polish Club, Olympia) and major campaigns for big brands, little brands and everyone in between – McDonald’s, Bonds, NRMA, Telstra x Apple, and Berlei, the latter starring Serena Williams (what a dream!). Recognised for her distinct creative voice, Leilani has served as a judge for the AICP Awards and was on the 2024 AWARD Awards Film Jury.
