Gemma Lee is an award-winning Australian filmmaker known for her narrative-driven work across commercials, short films, television, and music videos. Originally from Scotland, she studied at Edinburgh College of Art before earning a Master’s in Writing and Directing from the Victorian College of the Arts in Australia. Lee has directed campaigns for global agencies, shooting both internationally and locally for major brands including Toyota, Dove, Lexus, and Australia Tourism, and earned an Australian Directors’ Guild nomination for the Libra Live Liberated campaign. Her short film The Wake was nominated for the Jury Prize at Tribeca and won awards at St Kilda and Palm Springs. She has also directed music videos for top Australian artists including Delta Goodrem, Guy Sebastian, Kasey Chambers, and The Preatures. Most recently, Lee wrote and directed a television series for ABC and is currently developing a Screen Australia-supported feature film, a TV series with Dreamchaser, and a feature documentary with Easy Tiger.
