Co-Founder & Executive Producer, Nimiopere
Julie Axell has spent 25 years doing what she loves most: helping great ideas become great work.
She began her career as a copywriter, spending a decade learning the craft of creativity and what truly makes work resonate. From there, Axell moved into account leadership, where she gained a deeper appreciation for clients, strategy, and the relationships that sit at the heart of strong creative partnerships.
Fifteen years ago, Axell found her way into post-production — a move that felt like coming home. Having worked across creative, account, and post, she brings a rare, end-to-end understanding of the process, from the first spark of an idea to the realities of bringing ambitious work to life.
In 2020, Axell co-founded Nimiopere with editors Graham Chisholm and Raj Ramnauth. Since then, she’s been surrounded by a level of creativity that continues to inspire her every day. The people, the energy, and the work at Nimiopere feel genuinely special.
Based in Toronto, Nimiopere’s projects have taken Axell and the team around the world, united by a shared belief in storytelling without borders. Axell lives in Toronto with her husband and two children.
