Cliff Skeete comes to you straight from the streets of NYC. Well, actually, he’s in Jersey now. (We’ll get to that.) Skeete graduated St. John’s University in Queens and after an internship at Y&R knew that the glamour of marketing was his calling. (OK, that’s BS). Skeete just loves the hum - the buzz of good ideas, the pulsing energy of creativity. Skeete sees the insights we all search for as they come to life in the funny, poignant and smart expressions we call advertising. He stretched his legs (which are quite long) on brands like NFL, NHL, Jeep and Verizon while at Y&R and Mcgarry Bowen, winning several awards along the way including two Emmy’s. And when the creative work shifted in-house (as it did at so many brands), Skeete shifted to the in-house thinktank of Verizon, 140.
Skeete’s second in-house shift was with all the rest of us - as we shifted home during the pandemic. After 3 years at 140, Skeete felt the itchy urge common among us as we re-evaluated what mattered while sitting in sweatpants. And what matters for Skeete is supporting big ideas with passion - no matter their origin story. Big ideas can come from couches - from individuals feeling the drive to do their own thing and to start something better for themselves. After Verizon, Skeete went on to support big ideas of both styles by putting small businesses first and by leading global creative for Vista Print, leading global partnerships like Liverpool Football Club and the Boston Celtics to name a few. He is now a freelance ECD and focuses on projects and clients that align with his passion and energy.
